  • The Fear of Loss
The fear of loss is more powerful than the desire to gain.  You can often tempt people to make a buying decision by telling them what they will lose by not going ahead.

One example of this is where we talk about a product being available only to a limited number of people.  "Act now before it's too late."

Another example are the "time sensitive" triggers that Internet marketers use on their  websites.  "Buy today and take advantage of our special price offer."

The suggestion is that, if the visitor doesn't act, he or she will lose something.  You can use this fear of loss in many different ways to push people towards a buying decision.

Bullets are proven sales generators.  Here are some modifications to make them even more powerful.

  • Stop - Think - Act
When you want to issue a stinging rebuke to a customer or subscriber who seems hell-bent on provoking an argument or, worse, insults your integrity, remember to: 

Stop - Think - Act.

STOP!  Take a deep breath.  Get up and walk around if it helps.

THINK!  Do you want to get into an email war with this person or can you just politely shut them up?

ACT!  Return to the email and either reply politely or delete it.

It can be very hard.  In fact, it's one of the toughest things to learn online.  But you don't get anywhere engaging in battles that you can't win.   So prove you're the bigger person, walk away, and spend your time doing something more productive and profitable.

…it's what you do AFTER the mistake that's important.

Do you learn from your mistake?

Do you evaluate what you did, what the results were and how to make sure the mistake doesn't happen again?

What is unique about your product or your service?  Is it better than the competition or is it the exact same thing with a different wrapper?  If you look around, you'll find that the successful sites online are never "me-too" or the standard affiliate sites.  They're sites that have come up with a unique angle in a targeted niche market.

  • Always Start With a Headline and Finish With a P.S.
Whether writing a Web page sales letter or a direct email promotion, always include a headline and a P.S.

If your potential customers read nothing else, they will read these two sections of an e-mail or Web page.

  • Take a Risk
Don't rely on others to do it all for you.   It's no good pretending to be part of the action, if you're only actually watching other people taking risks.

The biggest fear we all have is the "'Fear of Failure".   But you're only ever going to hit a home run by standing up to the plate...  and returning each time you strike out!

Product ideas are everywhere.   When you watch the TV news, look for product ideas.   When you glance at the local magazine rack, look for product ideas.   Always keep your mind open when looking for potential products to develop or promote.

Remember that niche markets are top money markets.   If you can fulfill a need in a niche market, you can be very successful.

  • Instant Wealth Is A Long-Term Strategy!
Sounds a bit strange, but it's the response I give to people who ask how to make quick profits because they need the money to pay the rent this month!

The simple fact is that making money quickly online only comes after several months or years of hard work.   In other words, there's no "instant wealth" magic wand.

If you want to make money online, please, look at it as a long term strategy.
