- Winston Churchill

"But a far more startling fact to most of us is that WE ARE CREATORS, and that we can form today the world we personally shall be living tomorrow."

"A man of character in peace is a man of courage in war. Character is a habit. The daily choice of right and wrong. It is a moral quality which grows to maturity in peace and is not suddenly developed in war."
- General Sir James Glover

"When you have learned that 2 + 2 = 4, you have gained a useful piece of information... Information is nice to know...But until you learn to use that information in a practical application, it isn't knowledge."

April 27, 2006 Issue

Power Profit Points #2

This issue contains additional quick key success factors collected over many years of doing business, both offline and online.  As stated in the last Bulletin -- print them out, put them up on your fridge, whatever - refer to them often if you find yourself sidetracked.  Enjoy!

  • Never Forget The Backend
In most cases, 50% - 90% or more of actual profits in your Internet business can occur or should occur from backend selling opportunities.  If you ignore supplying more than one product or service, you will be ignoring the majority of your profits.

By all means focus on your prime product or service, but never rely on it for your income.  If you only have one product, the most you will ever make will be one sale per customer.  With five products, you can make five sales per customer, so the same 10,000 customers can provide you with 50,000 sales.

  • Read The Headline - Then, Stop and Think
You've seen it before:  "Join free; then, just sit back and relax, and we'll do everything for you.  We do all the recruiting, we make all the phone calls, all you do is rake in the cash."

Bulls&^%#!

These sites want you to get hooked and then they start telling you how you would benefit by becoming a paid member (or a Pro Member).  As soon as they have your address they will apply a lot of pressure to get you to upgrade.  Remember – nothing is for nothing in this world.

Always read the headline.  STOP!  THINK!  Then read on.

  • Use The Correct Colors On Your Web Site
Did you know that the use of the correct colors on your web site can actually increase your sales or sign-ups?

In fact, when people see certain colors they can change their emotions or they can symbolize things related to the colors.

Here is a list of colors with some emotions and symbolizations they can cause:

Red - love, excitement, warmth
Pink - romantic, affection, sensuality
White - purity, peace, perfection
Blue - sky, water, travel, freedom, truth
Purple - royalty, dignity
Black - space, night, authority
Green - money, calm, envy, greed
Yellow - light, purity, understanding
Orange - autumn, youthfulness, fire
Brown - wood, comfort, strength

It's very important to know which emotions or symbolizations will trigger your target audience to take the desired action, such as to buy your product or service or sign up for your newsletter.

  • Base Your Plan On Reality
It may sound like a good idea to set up a web site that is constantly updated and is always current.  The big corporations can succeed at this because they have buildings full of site designers and programmers.

If you want a site that updates constantly, create it to work with an automated updating program (like news streaming) or with a support system such as a discussion group where hundreds of people can post current content for you.

  • Offer Minimum Links On Your Home  Page
One of the primary goals of any business is to make sure you don't confuse your customers.  By offering minimum links on your home page, you will limit the chances that your visitor will stray off elsewhere and not get back to your main theme.

Minimize the links and keep your visitors as focused as possible.

  • Look For a Market First; Then, Develop a Product or Service For This Market
People who start with a product first and then go looking for customers are heading down a long and hard road.

Most of the really successful entrepreneurs find a market of people - first - and then develop a product that those people are looking for.  This is a key concept behind "Niche Marketing."

  • Reduce The Graphics On Your Site
Graphics take a long time to load.   Keep the graphics to a minimum so that your site loads fast.

Too often we assume that everybody is connected to super-fast modems nowadays, but that simply isn't true.  Many surfers are still using dial-up modems, and one lesson that we must learn is that any page that takes more than ten seconds to load will NOT be seen!   Quite simply, the visitor gets fed up and goes elsewhere.

  • Doing Is More Important Than Knowing
The key to wealth isn't always knowing everything.  As a matter of fact, you could know every single trick in the book and still not earn a dime online.  It is the DOING that brings the profits in your business.

Don't confuse knowledge with action. You need BOTH!

  • Avoid Challenges When Choosing a Business
Enough challenges will show up after you start a project, so look for a project that you can see the end of before you start out.

If you cannot envisage the whole project in your head - every detail – look for something simpler and keep the big project till later.

Remember, most beginners will never complete a project that takes more than a month to finish.

  • Pick a Market You Are Passionate About
Don't just pick a market and product based on money.  Find something that you love to do.

If you're excited about your market, then you are going to find it is that much easier to stick it through until your business becomes a success.

Be the best!
