How Did It Ever Come To This?

"The Internet marketing Community has gone in to a very dark place over the last few years, and it shows no signs of ever returning to the light of day.

What has happened and why is a study in greed, ego maniacs, and entrepreneurship gone bad.  The biggest looser in the entire equation is the customer!

The unsuspecting newbie, beginner or anyone not part of the "Old Boys Club" loses, and we don't even realize the depth and breadth or the amount of manipulation that is occurring on a daily basis."

The sad part is…you and I are being manipulated.  Some of us may realize it, some of us may not.

We've talked before about "Herd Mentality."  As Scott points out, gone are the days when people innovated, created a unique product, built a web site and promoted that product to a targeted audience to solve a solve. 

Nowadays, we see new product launches almost every week.  People simply rip off other people's ideas, hire a ghost writer or a rent-a-coder, slap together an inferior product, and goes for the one-time big cash hit.  Forgotten is any notion of customer service, after-sales service, or any kind of service at all.

Then…when the initial sales frenzy wears off, the copy-cat uses joint venture techniques to prolong the agony for the unsuspecting.

It's short-term, "all-about-the-money-and-who-cares-about-the-customer" thinking that clearly, in my view, jeopardizes the very way we affiliate marketers try to make money on the Internet.  Our businesses – and our livelihoods – are really at stake here!
