Written by Robert
Collier,
author of "Secrets
of the Ages," this long-lost, classic reference guide outlines a
simple, complete, easy-to-understand 5-step scientific approach for

Today's
Thoughts...
"We are what we
repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit."
"A man of character in peace is a man of
courage in war. Character is a habit. The daily choice of right and
wrong. It is a moral quality which grows to maturity in peace and is
not suddenly developed in war."
- General Sir James Glover
"The world can only be grasped by action, not by comtemplation...the
hand is the cutting edge of the mind."
"Opportunity is missed by most people
because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work."
" Destiny is not a
matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be
waited for, it is a thing to be achieved."
- William Jennings Bryan
"And
we should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least
once. And we should call every truth false which was not accompanied by
at least one laugh. "

Bulletins Ezine

25, 2007 Issue
The Secret Is...There Is No Secret!
I struggled writing this Bulletin, not because I can't find the word to
say, but rather because I don't always heed my own advice.
But we're not perfect, right? So here we go...
Just because we know something doesn't always mean we follow
through. Sometimes we get lazy, or complacent, or simply say
"that's good enough."
Take, for example, our never-ending quest for the
"one-perfect-business" or the secret to making a lot of money, or the
secret to ultimate success.
I confess, I'm as guilty as the next person.
I've oftentimes talked about "herd mentality" in these Bulletins.
You know what I'm talking about – jumping on the bandwagon of a
newly-launched product or service which promises to fulfill our every
need and desires. It contains the secret. But...
...in the words of Jim Straw,
"There
is NO "secret" to success. -- That's the problem."
And he's right.
Here's Jim's advice:
"Most people who say they want to succeed, go around all their life
looking for some "secret" that people like me are sure to know.
They just know that if they ever learn that "secret" they will be
successful, too. -- Ain't gonna happen because there ain't any secret."
"All they need to do is start "doing" something. -- That's all it
takes. -- Once they start "really" doing something ... other than
searching for the "secret" to success ... whatever they are doing will
expand and grow into the success for which they couldn't find the
secret."
So here's what I'm gonna do, and I humbly suggest you do also, if
you're not already doing it:
- Stop trying to run a thousand little businesses.
- Stop looking for the "home run" but rather
concentrate on "the singles and the doubles."
- Find one (at most two) niche or target market you're
passionate about, learn everything you can about this market, and focus
only on a business related to this market until it becomes (successful
being defined by yourself, of course).
- Keep in mind at all times that success is a journey,
not a destination. Relax and enjoy the ride. Yes, the
destination will be sweet also, but the scenery along the route will be
full of pleasant and wonderful surprises.
- Just "do something." Do something unique, personal
and out-of-the-box. Stop standing still.
- Don't be afraid to fail – just fail small. We
learn most from our failures, not from our successes.
I'll let Jim finish this Bulletin:
"The VAST MAJORITY of people who say they want to succeed, only want to
succeed if they can make it all at once ... just one sale won't do it.
They want big sales, or thousands of sales, immediately. -- So, when a
new opportunity only produces a few sales, they move on rather than
making those few sales over and over and over and over ... until those
few sales have grown into thousands upon thousands of sales.
Most of them are looking for someone to help them do it, rather than
looking for the tools they need to do it themselves.
If you want to succeed, "do" something. Let what you are "doing" lead
you onward and upward until you have the success you seek. -- There are
NO "secrets" to it.
Many people know the facts. -- Many people have the talent. -- Many
people have the need. -- Many people have what it takes. -- But ...
very, very few succeed because they are seeking the "secret" to success
rather than doing something."
Until next time,
Be
the best!
